THE CONSTITUTION AND BYLAWS OF

THE UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF BINGHAMTON

(A New York Religious Corporation)




THE UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF BINGHAMTON was formed as a result of the vote by both congregations and corporations, held on September 12, 2010, to consolidate The First Presbyterian Society of Binghamton and the West Presbyterian Society of Binghamton.

PREAMBLE


THE UNITED PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH OF BINGHAMTON (the “Corporation”) was established as an incorporated church by the filing of the order consolidating the First Presbyterian Society of Binghamton and the West Presbyterian Society of Binghamton into The United Presbyterian Church of Binghamton by the Supreme Court in the Broome County Clerk’s Office, State of New York, on ____________ pursuant to Article 4-2 Section 13 of the Religious Corporations Law.  


The Corporation has operated as a religious corporation under the same name since the date herein above and has conducted its affairs under the auspices and authority of the Presbytery of Susquehanna Valley, a subordinate body under the Synod of the Northeast and the General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church  (U.S.A.).


The Corporation adopts the following Bylaws which shall govern and control the management and operation of the Congregation/Corporation subject only to the Constitution of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the laws of the State of New York, as adopted and amended from time to time by either/both authorities.
